Mark started BenchMark Security in October 2021 after several owners of licensed premises had complained to him about the issues they were having with their current door staff.
Drawing from his many years working the bar and nightclub scene as a doorman in England and Canada and also his time as a Prison Officer in a maximum security jail just outside of London, he saw that there was not only a lack of available and qualified door staff, but that the customer was also not getting the level of service that they required and deserved in order to keep their staff and patrons safe from potential incidents that commonly occur in this industry.
Mark prides himself on being able to deal with a variety of situations that require different approaches in order to diffuse and control a multitude of varying situations. This led to the start of BenchMark Security which fed Mark’s passion for raising the standard and professionalism of door staff and to the personal training of his staff in conflict management, crowd control and the health and safety of those involved.
Mark has twice been awarded commendations for bravery in both the Prison Service and the Fire Dept in England during incidents that he was involved in, this will not only benefit his customers but also the company as a whole as BenchMark Security strives for a more professional and accountable level of security staff to suit Calgary’s growing needs.
